Mr. Anderson - Fourth Grade Teacher

Jim Anderson returns for year number two to Rosa Parks after teaching 4th grade at Margaret Mead Elementary School.  Mr.  Anderson’s B.A.  (1978) is from the UW in Business.  He worked in the private sector prior to deciding to return to college life, where he earned a Masters Degree in Teaching.
Mr. Anderson is still crazy about his wife Anne, and his three children.  Hamilton James is entering his junior year at Messiah College in Grantham, PA. Molly will be a sophomore at Lake Washington High School. 7th grade Ben is entering the International Community School. 3rd grade Sara will be commuting with Mr. A. in order to attend Rosa Parks.

In his spare time Mr. Anderson enjoys
coaching: soccer, lacrosse, & ultimate (frisbee).  He also enjoys sailing aboard the Jaco, his new sailboat, and playing music with the Offenders (you might remember the Offenders from the History of Rock!).

This summer was very refreshing for Mr. Anderson.  "
We attended the wedding of a teacher friend in Bend, Oregon. The kids competed in swim team at the Strattonwood, where I served as the starter. We spent a little over 3 weeks sailing in the Canadian Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands aboard the Jaco. I read books by Hemingway, Steinbeck, and Robert Parker."  He even caught a showing of The King of Kong.

He feels that kids learn best in an atmosphere where the learning is interactive, meaningful, and fun.

Mr. Anderson possesses a “can do” spirit and every day greets life and people, children and adults, with a huge smile and an upbeat, positive outlook.
