Alyssa Marlowe - Second Grade Teacher

Alyssa Marlowe is a graduate of Washington State University, where she received her BA in Education.  Ms. Marlowe will be teaching second grade.  Ms. Marlowe comes to our school from Mead where she has taught first and second grades.
When asked what she likes to do in her spare time, Ms. Marlowe says, "I enjoy running very very slowly:) I ran a marathon in Portland a few years ago and a half-marathon earlier this year. I love reading book clubs and writing to friends. I also like to go snowboarding (although I haven't gone very often), hiking, and traveling."  She enjoys learning and continues to do so every day.  "I am very interested in continuing to learn and I will be returning to New York this summer to attend the Columbia University Teacher's College Reading and Writing Institute."

Ms. Marlowe is excited about Rosa Parks Elementary.  She is looking forward to working with a dynamic and enthusiastic staff and community.  "I think that this is going to be an exciting venture and I can't wait to try new and creative ways of learning and collaborating."
