Michelle McCary - First Grade Teacher

Michelle McCary has taught at Wilder Elementary since 2001.   She taught first grade for three years and all day kindergarten for two years.   She is a graduate of WSU, with a BA Elementary Education and earned her Masters in Education from SPU in Curriculum instruction with an endorsement in reading.
Ms.  McCary grew up in Port Orchard, Washington with  her two parents and younger brother.  They are a very close family.  Her parents still live in Port Orchard in the same home where  Ms. McCary was born and raised.

"I visit my family quite often." Ms. McCary says, "My brother moved to New York City after he graduated from Linfield College in Oregon 3 years ago.  I don't get to see my brother as often as I would like.  I have been to NYC to visit him once, and can't wait to visit him there again.  He just recently proposed to his junior high sweet heart and will be getting married this next winter."

Ms. McCary is crafty in her spare time.  She enjoys card making, crafts, planning events/activities, cooking, entertaining, exercising, swimming, boating, water and snow skiing, sporting events, and traveling.  She enjoys doing almost anything, "If you ask me to go somewhere or doing something there is a very small chance I will say no."

Ms. McCary is excited to meet new students and staff, try new things and most of all to work together with students and staff to make this new experience meaningful for all everyone.
