Angela McCathern - Second Grade Teacher

Angela McCathern is a second grade teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary. Ms. McCathern is from a very close family and is the oldest of four children. She has a sister who is 26 and teaches fifth grade at Rockwell, a brother that is 23 and is attending Eastern and another brother who is 22 and attending WSU. Her parents live in a small town, 20 miles south of Spokane called Rockford. Their house was built in the 1800's and was a very special place to grow up.

The McCathern family spent a lot of time at their Lake Cabin in Idaho this summer. Where she read a lot of books and a few were the wonderful Harry Potter! Miss McCathern is excited for the snow, "I can not wait to hit the slopes this winter snowboarding."

"I love athletics! I play basketball, volleyball, softball, and I love to snowboard. I also have taken dance for eight years!!" Look out for Ms. McCathern to choreograph the official school dance.

"I spent some time on a cruise ship this summer teaching the First Move chess program to principals and teachers from around the nation. I learned a lot and am excited to include it in our math instruction this year."
