Volunteers are essential to our school. Through volunteering, we support the work that is being done by our teachers and school staff.  To make this year a great success, WE NEED YOU! Please take a few moments to look over the list of volunteer opportunities available and indicate the areas in which you are interested. Please, return the form as soon as possible.

WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES:
Friday Flyer- Assemble information packets yes Friday mornings
Emergency Preparedness/ Health & Safety- Maintain emergency plan and supplies with staff.  Plan Emergency Drills.
Health Room- Assist sick or injured children. 
 Hospitality- Provide refreshments for meetings and special events.
Wellness and Nutrition – Works to improve nutrition and wellness at school.
Special Education Volunteer –  Volunteers will  help  Special Education staff in the resource room. 


ONE TIME OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

“Back to School” Event – Welcome to Rosa Parks Elementary School.  Fall Fundraiser and family fun event. September 21st
School Directory- Coordinate production of this vital information resource for our school community.  Fall.
Membership- Organize and assist with PTSA membership drive. 
Apparel and School Items- Helps with production and sales of school T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.  Fall.
Innisbrook Gift Wrap Sale- Fundraiser: Tally and verify orders.  Distribute to classrooms.

Pancake Breakfast- Great opportunity for Dads to participate. Volunteers are needed to  help set up, cook and clean up.

Reflections Program- National PTA art event.  Help with after school workshops.
Vision, Hearing and Scoliosis Screening- Perform vision and hearing tests for all students. 
School Photos- Coordinate or assist with picture days. (September and March)
Read-A-Thon – Helps collect pledges and book marks.  This is an annual fundraiser.
Book Fair – Help set up and sell books during the fair.
Pizza Sales – Help sell, collect orders and distribute to classroom.
Silent Auction – Volunteers needed to help set up, work during the event and tear down.
Auction Baskets – Volunteers to  help  organize baskets with teachers, assistants to compile information, ask for donations and put together baskets and posters to help sell.
Cranium Family Night/Family Photo night – Volunteers needed to help set up, clear up and help direct people for photos.(Oct25th)
Family Reading Night – We need Dads  to come and read for the kids.
Art Appreciation Night – Volunteers to coordinate event, to solicit auction donations from families and volunteers to coordinate classroom items.  Classroom Auction coordinators needed for each class.
Mathnificent Night  – Volunteers to coordinate event, help sell games at event and facilitate delivery of orders, concessions.
Science Fair- Help set up and  judge during the  Science Fair. 
First Day Packets- Help assemble packets for the first day of school. (last week of August 2008).


ONGOING OR SPORADIC OPPORTUNITIES:

Art Enrichment- Present planned Fine art program for your child’s class.(once month)

Legislative Liaison- Updates the PTSA yes ongoing education legislative issues locally and in the State.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program- Supply student body with education and support in this area 

BoxTop Coordinator – Takes the Box Tops from the classroom and compiles them.  

Campbell Soup Coordinator –Takes the labels from the classrooms, compiles and mail them to Campbell's.
Logo Wear –Volunteer needed to order items.
School Store – We need many volunteers to help sell once a month, yes Wednesdays during the day and after school.
PTSA Room Parent- Will help as interface between PTSA and classroom parents.  We need 1 parent per classroom
Parent Education- Planning speakers and/or events for parents.
School Beautification- Helps to improve and maintain school grounds.
Special Needs Liaison- Forwards information from PTSA to families of special needs children.

Staff Appreciation Committee- Plan events/activities for staff.  Prepare food for monthly luncheons.

Welcoming Committee- Call upon new families to help them with transition to a new school and area.

Yearbook- Organize or help with the publication and distribution of the yearbook.

Special interests.   Please let us know of any special interests or hobby (scrap booking, Math, Science, Sewing, painting, Sports,  etc)  that you would be willing to share:
