It seems any adventure or fantasy book where the main characters are small children is a big hit at this age.  The Fairy Realm books by Emily Rodda are a great read.  Also, the Rainbow Magic Fairy books by Daisy Meadows are fun and a shorter read.  There seems to be an endless number of series of these books, Color Fairies, Jewel Fairies, Weather Fairies, etc...!  The Secrets of...
